Read any good books lately?

I read a lot. Around 2010 I started something I've dubbed "literary hour". Most evenings I park myself in a comfortable chair and enjoy some good wine and cheese. I do an hour or so of reading most evenings. The material varies depending on my mood. It is without a doubt the most relaxing thing that I do.

Of the many books that I have read over the years, I put together this list of 18, covering four broad categories. What people like to read is completely dependent on individual taste, so if yours matches mine - great. If not, at least you didn't waste much of your own valuable reading time perusing this short list.

Mind-bending books that helped shape my perspectives:
